Travel Clinic

Preparing for a trip outside the country? Travel, whether for enjoyment or necessity, can have associated risks. That's why CHI Health travel clinics offer pre-travel counseling, immunizations, prescriptions (for malaria, travelers’ diarrhea, and altitude sickness), and health advice for adults and children.

Although your travel agent may tell you immunizations may not be required for your particular trip, certain vaccines and medications may be important to protect your health.

During your travel clinic consultation we also will discuss other ways to stay healthy while traveling.

How to Prepare

You'll need to complete a questionnaire prior to your appointment so your provider can evaluate your itinerary as well as your medical and vaccine history.

You can never plan too far in advance, that’s why we recommend your initial appointment be as early as possible before departure. Some vaccines require 6 weeks and up to 6 months to assure coverage.

Your travel clinic visit will include assessing the following:

  • Review of your itinerary
  • Review of your medical history
  • Vaccine requirements and recommendations
  • Prescription recommendations
