Market President Critical Access Hospitals

David Jones is Market President for our critical access hospitals in Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska. He has more than 25 years experience in health care as a COO and CEO. David’s executive roles have primarily been in Behavior health and Critical Access Hospitals including working in large Health Systems. David's current role is the CHI Regional Market President, overseeing Missouri Valley and clinics in addition to 19 CHI-Critical Access Hospitals in Nebraska, North Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa.

David is very involved in the communities he lives. Community leadership roles include Past Chamber of Commerce President in multiple cities, Kansas City Chiefs Red Coats, and an elected city council in two different Missouri Cities. David was also the youngest Mayor at the time in Saint Joseph, Missouri. As Mayor, David was a two-time Mayor of the Year from the U.S. Conference of Mayors and listed as Ingram’s top 40 under 40 top professionals in Kansas City, Missouri.

David has attained an Associate’s Degree in Marketing, a Bachelor’s of Science in Management, and a Master’s in Business Administration-Gerontology. David was also chosen for the Healthcare Advisory Board Fellowship. To further enhance Voice of the Customer and Process Improvement David is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 2019 and his Master of Healthcare Administration in 2021, both from the University of Iowa. He has a background in rural healthcare having worked previously at the Office of Statewide Clinical Education Programs within the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and with Washington County Hospital and Clinics. He joined CommonSpirit Health & CHI Health in 2021 as an Administrative Fellow. As Director of Critical Access Operations, he actively works with CHI’s Critical Access Hospitals and Network hospitals to help develop and provide services and with the System level staff internally to coordinate and deploy resources within the Critical Access Market.

Nikki earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from North Dakota’s Dickinson State in 1994. She built the foundation of her nursing career at a rural critical access hospital in North Dakota which proved to be a wealth of hands-on experience and education. 

A member of the Good Samaritan team since 2002, Nikki has served in bedside roles in obstetrics, orthopedics, and post-acute care, and was also an adjunct nursing instructor. In 2016, she became the network coordinator for Good Samaritan’s critical access hospital network. Quality has long been a special focus of Nikki’s work. She has served as both chair and vice chair of Good Samaritan’s Quality Committee and was honored with Good Samaritan’s Nursing Excellence Award for Quality Excellence in 2014. In 2017, she earned a Master of Nursing degree with a specialization in nursing education from Aspen University.

Nikki Clement, through her role as the Network Coordinator for the Good Samaritan Network, champions quality and safety support in the network, in addition to providing support for FLEX grant management; annual reviews; mock surveys; policy and procedure support; and other educational and meeting coordination for the CAH’s that are in the Good Samaritan Network.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  She has worked in a variety of settings in critical access, spending 7 years at CHI Health Plainview with the last four in quality, safety and risk management.  She received the Positive Image of Nursing award in 2019 and saw CHI Health Plainview awarded the Top 20 Critical Access Hospital in Quality multiple years.

As Network Coordinator, Sarah provides support in quality and safety, FLEX grant management, annual reviews, mock surveys, policy and procedure support, and education and meeting coordination for the CAHs in the Omaha and CAH Link Networks.

Administrative Fellow - Critical Access Hospitals

Tanner earned his Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration at Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2021 and his Master of Healthcare Administration at the University of Minnesota. He has a background in hospital operations, revenue cycle management, and financial operations at both HCA Healthcare and Intermountain Health. Tanner also serves on the board of directors as the Finance Chair for the Phillips Neighborhood Clinic, a free clinic that delivers care to thousands of underserved patients in south Minneapolis. As an Administrative Fellow Tanner works closely with both CHI and Network hospitals to provide operational support and undertakes various projects focused on growth and performance improvement.

CHI Health Partners

CHI Health Partners is a regional leader in clinical integration and value based contracting. We have earned nearly $11 million over the last three years from shared savings and risk bonuses. CHI Health Partners brings 20 years of experience as a non-exclusive, affordable network. We currently have value-based contracts with BlueCross Blue Shield of Nebraska, Aetna, and Medica which welcome CAH and rural provider participation.
