Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute

Rehabilitation is not a one-size fits all endeavor. The knowledge required to rehabilitate a person who suffered a stroke is completely different than that required for someone who has lost a limb. That’s why we concentrate on treating each situation and person on a uniquely, individual basis.

CHI Health Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute inpatient unit offers spacious barrier-free private rooms, a therapy gym, accommodations for families and large gathering areas where patients, family members and friends can find mutual support and encouragement from one another, as well as innovative technology to customize treatment for patients.

Each rehab. patient is assigned a coordinator who works closely with the patient, family and care team to provide a coordinated rehabilitation experience. Other physical rehab. team members may include: a doctor of physical medicine (physiatrist), physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, recreational therapist, a physician specializing in rehabilitation medicine, rehabilitation nurses and a rehabilitation neuropsychologist and chaplains.

We recognize that the rehabilitation process also affects the patient's family. Family support is an integral part of the recovery process and we encourage their active involvement. We also believe it is important for family members to understand their loved one's recovery process, so we offer educational, neuropsychology, and support services to assist families.

After the inpatient physical rehabilitation stay, the patient may require services that are addressed at a different level of care. We assist with the transition to the next step in recovery. Follow-up treatment may range from skilled care, transitional living and home health services to outpatient care. A physiatrist monitors the patient at intervals that are appropriate to assess his health care needs. Typically 75% of inpatients are moved to a community living environment.

Rehabilitation is an option and where you choose to go matters. CHI Health Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute is a high-performing organization that serves to provide excellent functional improvement outcomes, patient safety and experience to all. We are proud to be your first choice in rehabilitation care since 1968.
