Our Providers
Robotic-Arm Assisted Knee Replacement (Partial and Total)
CHI Health Lakeside, Lakeside Ambulatory Surgery Center, CHI Health Good Samaritan and CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs offer knee replacements using the robotic-arm assisted technology. Partial knee replacement and total knee replacement procedures are designed to relieve the pain caused by joint degeneration from osteoarthritis. Using the robotic-arm assisted surgery system, the surgeon can more accurately place and align the implant in this minimally-invasive procedure.
Through CT-based 3D modeling of bone anatomy, surgeons can use this system to create a personalized surgical plan and identify the implant size, orientation and alignment based on each patient’s unique anatomy. This type of knee replacement may:
- Facilitate ideal implant positioning that can result in a more natural feeling knee following surgery
- Result in a more rapid recovery and shorter hospital stay than traditional knee replacement surgery
- Promote a rapid relief from pain and return to daily activities
Robotic-Arm Assisted Total Hip Replacement
Offered at CHI Health Good Samaritan, robotic-arm assisted total hip replacement is an option for adults suffering with either non-inflammatory or inflammatory degenerative hip joint disease, enabling surgeons to more accurately plan and place implant components.
As described above for knee replacements, this type of hip replacement starts with a personalized surgical plan and allows for more precision and better outcomes.
