Thyroid surgery is generally done for patients who have thyroid nodules (growths) or overproduction of thyroid hormone, which regulates your metabolism, heart and digestive function and more. This butterfly-shaped gland is located at the base of your neck.

Parathyroid surgery is typically for people who have overproduction of parathyroid hormone, which controls the body’s calcium. You have four small parathyroid glands, two on each side of the thyroid gland.

Adrenal surgery is done to remove nodules (growths) from the adrenal glands, which are located on top of the kidneys.

Neuroendocrine tumor surgery is also done to remove malignant tumors which occur in the small intestine, but are also found in the pancreas, lungs and other parts of the body.
