Cancer Counselors and Social Workers
When a person is diagnosed with cancer, it seems everyone is focused, and rightly so, on that person's physical well-being: treatments, side effects, doctor's visits, tests. But we know there are other parts of your life affected by cancer: self-image, work, family, friendships, and your approach to living. Patient and Family Counseling Services
Counseling and support services are provided to our cancer patients at no charge by a Licensed Professional Counselor on staff. The counselor is trained to help patients and their family members find the support they need to manage the daily challenge of living through cancer. Supportive care may include learning how to cope with feelings such as sadness, anger, anxiety or worry, and grief. Other reasons to visit with a counselor may be to find suggestions or resources for managing added stress, handling changes in energy and sleep, or other concerns such as “brain fog.”
