New CHI Health Orthopedic Center at Lakeside Coming Summer 2026
Bad hips and achy knees are common problems as people begin to age. As the number of Americans 65+ continues to climb, research predicts total hip and knee replacements will increase by more than 70 percent by 2030. With this in mind, CHI Health is proud to announce the new CHI Health Orthopedic Center at Lakeside, set to open in Summer 2026. This will help meet the growing needs of our community. The former wellness center building on Lakeside’s campus will transform into a newly renovated space dedicated to elevating the patient experience with access to the same exceptional care.
Once complete, the two-story CHI Health Orthopedic Center will be more than 49,500 square feet with the space for up to 20 orthopedic surgeons to see patients in a modern clinic setting. In addition, the center will house outpatient rehabilitation services, allowing patients to see their orthopedist and therapist all in one location. Connected to Lakeside, the facility will also give patients quick, easy access to imaging, surgical suites and hospital services.
"The CHI Health Orthopedic Program has seen exceptional growth over the last several years, and it’s thanks to the passion and commitment of our surgeons, and the dedicated providers and care team,” said Dr. Randy Pritza, CHI Health Clinic, System Senior Vice President. “As the west Omaha community continues to grow and expand, this new orthopedic center will allow us to provide the highest quality care for many years to come.”
Dr. Ranjan Gupta recently joined CHI Health and the Creighton University School of Medicine as the Chair of Orthopedic Surgery.
“Based on the sustained efforts of the surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and staff who have been committed to providing exceptional care to patients in the Omaha metro area, CHI Health/CommonSpirit Health has generously agreed to invest into orthopedic surgery along with fostering its growing relationship with the Creighton University School of Medicine,” said Dr. Gupta. “We are grateful for this investment and excited about what this means for this community's patients as we continue to elevate the standard of care while focusing on the patient experience.”
Current rehabilitation and orthopedic clinic services at CHI Health Lakeside will not be impacted during the construction process. Throughout this time, patients will need to access the rehabilitation clinic through the main south wellness center entrance.
